DC asks Are You Afraid of Darkseid? with scary story Halloween anthology

October is the month for spooky stories and chilling tales, as Halloween rolls some. And for the denizens of the DC Universe of discourse, what could be scarier than Darkseid, the despot dictator of the desolate planet Apokolips whose quest to dominate the Anti-Life Equation and rule the universe has brought him skyward against D.C.'s heroes slews of times?

Well, DC doesn't seem to consider much of anything could be American Samoa terrifying as all that, so they seem to equal tying their annual Halloween-themed one-shot plans to the darkest of Jack-tar Kirby's Virgin Gods in an anthology titled Are You Hunted of Darkseid?

(Not to be confused with Jukebox's classic all-ages repulsion show Are You Afraid of the Dark?, for fans old decent to remember the early '90s).

"Gather 'round the fire, fellow campers, because it's time for that most terrifying of traditions - campfire stories so scary you'll never sleep without a nighttime-light source again!" reads DC's elongate solicitation text for Are You Afraid of Darkseid?, as posted connected the publishing house's subscription service website.

The site doesn't provide whatsoever further info about the content operating room creative teams of the stories in the Are You Afraid of Darkseid? anthology, though it states that the one-shot will have various writers and artists, implying that its apparently big page weigh bequeath be split among enough tales to warrant the $9.99 cost tag.

Originally introduced in 1970's Superman's Pal Prize Olsen #134, one of the early titles of unreal writer/artist Jack Kirby's Fourth World Saga, Darkseid went on to become the primary opposition of the New Gods, even spilling over into the Direct current Creation kosher to fight Superman and the Justness League time and again.

As decades have passed, Darkseid has become one of, if not the biggest villain of the DC Universe, with adaptations into cartoons, toys, and even movies thanks to his all-besides-short show in Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Without symmetrical a cover to pass, it's hard to say how very much Darkseid himself will factor into the unitary-shot - whether the stories inside testament feature Darkseid himself, will be inspired by the fear he instills in the DC Universe in general, operating room may smooth comprise told by Darkseid remains entirely to be seen.
