Summer Camp for Kids: Photo Scavenger Hunt - clarktherul
Summer Camp guest position by Marisa of MakeHappy
My kids love scavenger hunts. I love scavenger hunts, too, because information technology can routine a terrestrial walk to the food market into a fun expedition. (I live in in a teeny tiny townspeople, you see, and we walk everywhere. The grocery store, the library, the post bureau, civilize, and the parking lot. I love information technology!) The only thing I Don't wish virtually scavenger hunts is that the kids, at eld 7 and almost 4, always want to bring their findings home. And I get into't know about you, only I'm not super excited to have languish cones, acorns and twigs stashed in my kids' suite. So we've started doing photo scavenger hunts.
The kids bring their cameras (disposables as wel work well for this) to take pictures of the objects on our list. I contribute my camera, too, so I can exercise—I'm always striving to take better photos. And I act on as the leaning-custodian, crossway off items as we sound.
For this outing, we did not have a especial destination. We took a stumpy ride to the Hood River (Oregon) Marina for a unscheduled Alphabet Scavenger Hunt. I prepared our list with each letter of the alphabet and we set off to discovery at to the lowest degree one object that started with each letter of the alphabet.
Extraordinary letters were uncomplicated—the B in a marina, with boats and boathouses everywhere, was a no-brainer. Others, like N, were particularly difficult. As a squad, we definite that we could include letters on signs if we couldn't find objects. My resourceful daughter was the one who finally found N at the conclusion of our trek. She said, "Mom, N is for Nikon! You have an N on your photographic camera!"
During these long summer days, finding an activity both my kids enjoy that lasts for longer than 20 minutes is like gilded to me. You can be sure we'll embody doing several more photo scavenger hunts in front school starts in September.
